"Feeling lost is often the first step on the journey to finding yourself."
Focused short & long-term counselling close to Hemel Hempstead & Berkhamsted and nationwide online counselling
Hi, my name is Suzanne, I am an experienced and fully qualified BACP registered integrative psychotherapeutic counsellor.
Feeling overwhelmed or stressed? Finding it hard to share difficult emotions with loved ones but need to talk? The world can sometimes feel challenging and hard to navigate.
My approach to therapy comes from a place of compassion, empathy and respect for you as a unique individual. Imagine having someone by your side who's dedicated to helping you untangle those knots in your mind. Someone who can provide a safe space for you to explore your emotions and work through them at your own pace.
I offer face to face, online and telephone counselling close to Berkhamsted and Hemel Hempstead easily accessible from the surrounding towns and villages.
I truly believe in the positive effects counselling and talking therapies can make on one’s life. Through my personal experience of counselling, I was inspired to shift careers and have dedicated myself to extensive training and attained various counselling qualifications, including the BACP approved Diploma in Integrative Therapeutic Counselling which allows me to work with both children and adults. Currently, I am extending my knowledge by studying for a BSc (Hons) degree in Therapeutic Counselling.
In addition to my private practice, I work as a Palliative Care and Bereavement Counsellor in a Hospice with extensive experience of grief, loss and illness; I also work as a school counsellor in a secondary school. Previously, I worked in a pupil referral unit, offering counselling to parents whose children were unable to attend mainstream school and I have also volunteered at a women’s centre, offering counselling to women facing various challenges in their lives. I have a broad experience of working with young people and adults and tailor each session to the specific needs of the individual.
My training and experience have covered a range of areas including bereavement, palliative illness, anxiety, trauma, self-harm, relationship problems, divorce, mindfulness, domestic violence, and identity issues. My personal and professional experiences have moulded me, providing insight into life's challenges. I hold values of fairness, diversity, and equality, treating everyone equally regardless of their background, culture, or gender.
I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and abide by their code of ethics. As an integrative counsellor my approach combines Person-Centered, Psychodynamic, Attachment, Relational, CBT, Transactional Analysis, and Gestalt therapy.
Integrating these approaches help explore and understand how these difficult feelings have been shaped by past experiences and relationships. Thoughts and behaviours can be looked at to increase self-awareness and confidence by looking at how we communicate with others. I adapt my approach to suit the needs of each client, providing a safe and compassionate environment where we can explore any challenges and difficulties which you may be facing. My role is to help clients find clarity and inner peace.
I am located within easy reach of Hemel Hempstead, Kings Langley, Bovingdon, Berkhamsted, Tring, St. Albans, Watford, Amersham & Chesham.
Additionally, I can offer online or telephone counselling upon request.
I offer both short and long term therapy.
I provide an initial complimentary 20-minute telephone consultation to explore the reasons behind your interest in therapy. This conversation allows both of us to determine whether I am the right therapist for your needs.
Session fees are £60 for a 50 minute counselling session. Payment for each session should be made 48 hours before the session by bank transfer
A limited number of concession and student rates are available.
Cancellation Policy
If for any reason you are unable to attend a session, please provide 48 hours’ notice to avoid being charged for the session. This enables me to offer the session to another client and we can rearrange your session for a time that is more convenient.
Feel free to contact me if you have any questions about how therapy works, or to arrange an initial assessment appointment. This enables us to discuss the reasons you are thinking of coming to therapy, whether it could be helpful for you and whether I am the right therapist to help.
You can also call me on 07851 550007 if you would prefer to leave a message or speak to me first. I am happy to discuss any queries or questions you may have prior to arranging an initial appointment.
All enquires are usually answered within 24 hours, and all contact is strictly confidential and uses secure phone and email services.
